Architect Shafique Rahman attended an individual seminar “Mongolbarer Shava; Forum for Architecture Lecture No. 395” as a key speaker.

Under the title of “Sustainability of Building Material in The Context of Bangladesh,” the condition of energy consumption, availability of raw material, transportation, machinery used in production, and a number of factors that are interrelated to estimate the embodied energy (E.E) of the materials commonly used in the building construction in Bangladesh were discussed in detail.

The presentation was based on the research conducted at the University of Sydney on sustainable Building materials in the context of Bangladesh. It covered elaborately how we could asses building materials in terms of environmental sustainability.
